The ABC Kite Fest is an annual celebration of kites and community fun, renowned for its vibrant display of colorful kites and engaging activities for all ages. Held in the heart of Austin, this festival offers a lively atmosphere where families and kite enthusiasts can come together to enjoy a day of entertainment and creativity.


THE CLIENT VISION

Since 1929, the Friends of the ABC Kite Fest, the nonprofit behind this beloved event, has carried forward a simple yet powerful mission—to foster creativity and community spirit through the magic of kite flying. But as the festival grew into one of the city's largest and longest-running celebrations, so did the challenges. Managing an event of this scale became overwhelming, and ensuring its future required more than just passion, it needed strategic expertise.

That’s where we stepped in.


THE PLAN

Bringing the ABC Kite Fest to life each year means orchestrating more than just a festival—it’s about crafting an unforgettable experience. Our plan was clear:


  • Create immersive, interactive experiences that captivate attendees of all ages.

  • Strengthen partnerships with the city, local businesses, and sponsors to sustain the festival’s impact.

  • Amplify the festival’s reach through dynamic marketing, social media, and community engagement.

  • Seamlessly manage logistics, from securing permits to organizing vendors and ensuring smooth crowd flow.

  • Gather post-event insights to refine and enhance future celebrations.


EVENT HIGHLIGHTS - A DAY FILLED WITH WONDER

From the moment festival-goers step onto the vibrant grounds of Zilker Park, they’re greeted with a whirlwind of excitement:


 The sky bursting with colorful kites, from handcrafted designs to massive, awe-inspiring displays. Live music at MossFest, setting the perfect backdrop for a day of fun. The Kids Club, where young adventurers unleash their creativity through hands-on activities. The Pet Zone, a paradise for furry friends to frolic and play. A feast of flavors, featuring a lineup of Austin’s best food trucks and local vendors. Unforgettable, Instagram-worthy moments, shared with a community of 50,000+ attendees.


The ABC Kite Fest isn’t just an event—it’s a tradition, a story, and a celebration of everything that makes Austin special. As we look ahead, we remain dedicated to ensuring this iconic festival continues to soar, bringing joy to the city for generations to come.


This year, the ABC Kite Fest will be held on April 5th, 2025 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Zilker Park. Attendance is free!
